The Supreme State Prosecutor's Office criminal charges Ylli Pango

The Supreme State Prosecutor's Office has sued other state officials. After an audit exercise Agency for Research, Technology and Innovation, the SSPO has made ​​criminal charges for abuse of office against the General Director of the Agency, Pango for a damage of over 10 million leks caused to the state budget.

SSPO has found irregularities and violation of Law in 3 projects in collaboration with private entities. But besides this, other violations found during the audit of SSPO are irregularities concerning expenses incurred for travel and for diets abroad; disapproval of the Internal Regulations of the Agency's function; non-delivery to the Council of Ministers and the Agency Procurement of the public records and conducting annual procurement forecast for 2010, 2011 and 2012. Also during the period under audit, the Agency Board has been operating in violation of the law, without a secretary.

For all these financial irregularities and violations observed and reflected in the final audit report, according to the press release of SSPO, bears direct responsibility to the General Director of the Agency for Research, Technology and Innovation, Pango.

Besides sue for economic damages caused and mismanagement of the agency, SSPO has sought dismissal of Mr. Pango and removal from service of the Director of National Programs at this agency.

Agency for Research, Technology and Innovation (ARTI) is a public institution under the Council of Ministers established by the Council of Ministers and has started work in March 2010.

Three days ago SSPO sued four other officials after an audit of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities. SSPO decided to make public the violations after the electoral process not affected in June 23 elections.
