Kosovo Independence Day, 6th Anniversary

6th Anniversary Celebrations of Kosovo Independence Day will last 4 days.

Cultural activities, pending solemn embassies in the country, in solemn session of the Kosovo Assembly, solemn reception by Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, in homage to the martyrs cemetery, various exhibitions and many different concerts will mark this holiday.

The Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has formed a Organizational Council, led by Minister of the Kosovo Security Force, Agim Ceku, to mark this day for the citizens of Kosovo.

The official agenda provides its launch on Friday, February 14, when all schools in Kosovo, the first hour will be dedicated to learning this historic celebration.


The main activity will be on 17 February, in the "Zahir Pajaziti" in Pristina, where will be organized 
the parade of the state uniforms.

"The main celebration will be held on February 17, at 12:00 in the square 'Zahir Pajaziti' in the center of Pristina, with the participation of KSF forces, Kosovo Police, Kosovo Correctional Service, and do this, because security forces, whether military, police or correctional services, are state identity. Exactly with those forces that represent the identity of the state, we want to record and organize a central event, "said Agim Ceku, Minister of KSF.

In an interview for Top Channel, Minister Ceku, as President of the Organizing Board, explains the symbolism of the sixth anniversary logo.

"It symbolizes the finalizing of the path towards the European Union and NATO. It is true that this 6-annual finds us in a situation where we are without international supervision ", further added Agim Ceku.

Similar demonstrations on 17 February will be in all municipalities of Kosovo, starting with the solemn session in each Municipal Assembly.

Holiday will be closed in the late night of February 17, with the lighting of fireworks in the center of Pristina.
