Gasification of Albania

The Albanian government seems to have preset the company will build a gas distribution network in Albania, after the construction of the transadritik pipeline.

Vice-President of the gas company in Azerbaijan, Elshad Nasirov has revealed to the media that there is an agreement between the company and the Albanian Government for the gasification of Albania.

"There is a prior agreement between our company and the Albanian government, in which case the Trans project selection, we will work to build gas distribution network in Albania," said Nasirov.

Likewise, the number two state energy giant said that the Azerbaijan company already building the distribution network, will have the right to use natural gas deposits in the country.

Actually Albania isn't using natural gas and doesn't have a distribution network, so it will be built from scratch. Nasirov has announced that there are other international companies that are interested in the construction of gas infrastructure in Albania.

But at this point it seems that the Azeris are the leading contender, also for another reason. This company is one of three shareholders in the field of "Shah Deniz", which will supply Trans gas field pipeline.
