The comunist residue's left

In a letter sent Albanians by Top Channel, former U.S. Ambassador to Tirana John Withers says the June 23 vote was a historic act.

Withers says that parliamentary elections recalibrated the national history compass, the remnants of the communist past left and democracy was restored, so there should be no turning back.

Former U.S. ambassador says in his letter that he is not surprised by the elections results of a week ago, as according to him Albanians marked another struggle for freedom.

He wishes the next Prime Minister Rama for the elections victory, while for the incumbent Prime Minister Sali Berisha says that he rarely agreed with his domestic policies, but respected him as a person.

"Perhaps history will judge him more towards", says Withers.
