Greece, Two escaped Albanians were killed by police

Two of Albanian fugitives from prison of Trikala killed by police after a special forces operation in its area of Etoloakarnania Koniska prefecture, about ten o'clock Tuesday evening.


Numerous police forces, who had set up ambushes in this area from the morning, having discovered from the thermal camera hidden there five Albanian prisoners who had escaped from prison of Trikala few weeks ago, they discovered that two of them were moving on foot.

When asked to surrender, they not only refused, but opened fire with Kalashnikovs and, after a shootout with police forces, the two remaining Albanians were killed.


Greek media told that they were named as Admir Nikaj and Edison Lika (Murataj / Xhaferi), but police have not yet officially confirmed their killing.

Police sources say that the two fugitives had fallen once again clash with police forces on June 17, near the village of Distomo, where the storm has killed a Greek policeman.

Meanwhile, the search continues for three other fugitives, among whom is the police's fugitive Marian Kola.
